New CCES project in partnership with EPFL, ETHZ and WSL

 

A partnership has been signed up with EPFL to provide GIS support in a CCES project on mountain regions called MOUNTLAND.

The project integrates research activities and research groups in ETH-Zürich, EPF-Lausanne and WSL in various fields of ecosystem dynamics, economics and political science with complementary methodological background to contribute to the sustainable management of mountain regions and to reach international leadership in integrative land-use modeling approaches.

The work of MFSA concerns the study of the impact of land use and climate change on pasture-woodland ecosystems, and will focus on diachronic and synchronic comparative studies at landscape scale. The obtained results will provide inputs to design predictive models.
